For men

Men's Hair Systems

For a receding hairline, a thinning crown or a completely bald top. The system is matched to your own hair, bonded with medical tape or adhesive and cut in so the join cannot be seen.

What a men's hair system actually is

A men's hair system is a base cut to the exact outline of your hair loss, with human hair knotted into it at the density and angle of your own. It is bonded to the shaved or clipped area of the scalp and then cut into the hair you still have at the sides and back.

It is not a wig. It stays on day and night, through the shower, the gym and the pool, and it is only removed during maintenance every few weeks. Because the base is breathable and the bond is medical grade, your scalp stays healthy underneath.

The thing most men worry about is the front. With a lace or ultra-thin skin hairline the scalp shows through, the way it does on natural hair, so you can wear it combed back or with a short textured fringe.

What You Can Expect

The practical side of wearing a hair system

No surgery, no recovery

Nothing is implanted and nothing has to heal. You can go out for dinner on the evening of your fitting.

Shower, swim and train

The bond holds through water and sweat. After chlorine or salt water, a rinse is enough.

A hairline you can show

Lace or ultra-thin skin fronts let the scalp show through, so the hairline holds up to close looks.

Colour, greys and wave matched

We match the grey percentage and curl pattern so the system blends with the hair you keep.

Shaped to your head

The base follows the outline of your hair loss: the temples, the crown or the whole top.

Upkeep every few weeks

Every 3 to 5 weeks the system is lifted, cleaned and re-bonded. We can teach you to do it at home.

Which System for Which Hair Loss

The base decides how natural it looks up close and how long it lasts

Nanotechnology skin base

Nanotechnology skin base

An ultra-thin, air- and water-permeable membrane that lies flat on the scalp. The most invisible option, especially for short styles, but it wears faster than thicker bases.

Lace front

Lace front

French or Swiss lace at the front gives the softest hairline for styles worn back. The lace is fine and needs gentle handling.

Hybrid bases

Hybrid bases

Lace in front with a sturdier perimeter for the tape. A good choice if you sweat a lot, train often or want a longer replacement cycle.

Crown and partial systems

Crown and partial systems

Covers only the crown or one thinning area and is blended into the hair around it.

Is a hair system right for you?

A hair system suits men whose hair loss has gone past what a transplant can cover, men without a usable donor area, and men who simply do not want surgery. It also suits men who want a specific look now rather than in a year. It suits you less if you want something you never have to think about again: a system needs a visit or a home routine every few weeks, and it is replaced every 6 to 24 months, depending on the base.

If you are weighing up both options, our comparison of hair systems and transplants goes through cost over ten years, donor limits and what each one looks like in year five.

How a fitting works at Neo Hair

Clients from abroad usually start with photos on WhatsApp. From those we recommend a base, a hair grade and a colour, and send a written quote. On the day, we clean and prepare the scalp, bond the system from the hairline back, then cut it into your own hair and style it. The whole appointment takes one to two hours. We suggest staying one more night so we can check it the following day.

Living with it

You wash it with a sulphate-free shampoo, style it with light products and avoid heat directly on the hairline. Every 3 to 5 weeks the system is removed, the old adhesive is cleaned off, your own hair underneath is trimmed and it is bonded again. Our guide to daily life with a hair system covers the gym, swimming, sleep and travel in detail.

Men's Hair Systems: Questions

Can I wear my hair short with a system?

Yes. Short styles need a very thin base and a well-matched density at the front and sides. An ultra-thin skin or lace front works best for short, textured cuts.

Will it come off at the gym or when I sweat?

No. The bond is made for daily life including sport. Heavy sweating shortens the time between maintenance visits, so very active clients often choose a hybrid base and a stronger adhesive.

Can I sleep with it on?

Yes, it stays on day and night. A silk or satin pillowcase reduces friction at the back and helps the hair last longer.

What happens as my own hair grows around it?

Your hair at the sides and back keeps growing while the hair on the system does not, so you trim it every couple of weeks to keep the blend. The hair under the base is trimmed at each maintenance.

Can I still have a transplant later?

Yes. Wearing a system does not affect your donor area. Some men use a system while they decide, or wear one over a transplanted area to add density.
